For this session we took a close look at a performance titled “Celui qui tombe” by Yoann Bourgeois, posted below. 

Our prompt was: “Write about falling down OR  Write about a time you took a stand.”

    About falling down~~~

    Walking strong, full stride, without a doubt in the mind
    Then out of nowhere… a trip up, falling head over heels, sanity knocked sideways
    Lying face down in the muck and mire…what to do?
    Remain motionless, thinking at a standstill…am I here or there?

    No, I decline to give up, to remain here lying complacent and powerless
    I crawl on all fours, slowly regaining my balance, and finally becoming upright, facing the sunlight
    Sanity returns, clear thinking returns, and I am one with the world and myself once again
