Live Virtual Group Session: 12PM EDT October 28th 2022

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this session!

For this session we took a close look at the painting Strange Shadows (Shadows and Substance)” by Gertrude Abercrombie, posted below.

Our prompt was: Write about what’s hidden or revealed in a shadow.

More details will be posted on this session, so check back again!

Participants are warmly encouraged to share what you wrote below (“Leave a Reply”), to keep the conversation going here, bearing in mind that the blog of course is a public space where confidentiality is not assured.

Also, we would love to learn more about your experience of these sessions, so if you’re able, please take the time to fill out a follow-up survey of one to two quick questions!

Please join us for our next session Friday November 4th at 12 pm EDT, with more times listed on our Live Virtual Group Sessions.

  1. About what’s hidden or revealed in a shadow~~~

A shadow box sits on a shelf in a distant corner of the room.
A collection of objects and photos from a time gone past.
But at closer examination, what is truly visible?

I see my life in snippets… people, places, and events from a life gone by, some lost from memory collecting dust.
They are shadows of moments, fleeting moments of the life journey.
I call upon them to bring understanding to what has transpired in my life and to those I’ve met along the way,
each helping to merge the reality of life with the shadows that have been left behind.

Dusting the box off, my heart is warmed.
My reality of the “here and now” is closely connected to these shadows of the past…giving me the strength to move into the light.
