Write about where the light falls

Isn’t it stunning how the light falls?

On a breezy spring morning lime leaves flutter on Aspens

and twinkle like green lights along Mountain Meadow Trail.

The same light sparkles the rivulets of spring run off

as they wend their way uncharted through the grass.

In the fall the green lights twinkle gold.

Breathtaking is the altitude, the chill on one’s cheek,

the image in which I am immersed.

Aspen leaves waving hello in the mountain breeze. Sunlight striking the natural springs of water, glistening diamonds in the light. It’s moments like these when all the cares of the world dissolve away. Close your eyes and you’re back there once again.

    About where the light falls~~~

I wake up to speckled sunlight
falling onto the damp, dark green grass
    before me.

As I walk, the ground sinks beneath my feet,
    as moisture surrounds my shoes…
    making a squishy sound.
I am locked into the earth,
    one with her.

The light hits a patch of red tulips,
    warming their petals,
and a sweet scent emanates back to me.

Redbud trees are illuminated by the beams of sunlight…
    they become torches spewing forth
shades of lavender and rosy pink.
    I catch my breath.

Pristine white blossoms of the cherry tree
flutter to the ground on a mild breeze
    that kisses my cheek.
    They are like snowflakes
taking flight on an April day.

It is a day to be alive.
It is a day to savor.
It is a day to rejoice.

Michele, it is interesting how our speakers find themselves in similar places with the colors of spring illuminated by the light that falls upon them. I am struck by how your voice calls upon multiple senses I can even smell the squishy earth. As always the beauty of the natural world is a source of solace, peace and joy,

      Andre.
