    About an escape

The world surrounds mein its web of doubt. What am I to dowhen the walls seem to close in,when everything is colored in shades of gray?

When I was a child, life seemed so easy, being led by the hand down life’s path.I was protected,I was watched over.

Now, there are mountains to climband fears to be faced, and a world that seemsto have been turned upside down.

Sometimes the mind screams, “Find an escape!”But what do I tell it…I am not sure I have a ready answer.

And so, I listen to my heartand it tells me I don’t need allthe puzzle pieces in front of me.It will all come together in due time, for I am still being watched over and protected.

Live in the moment, the shades of gray will liftand the light will shine brightly again, and the crooked path will be made straight.

I can stand tall, for I am strong in spiritand have hope.I see the beacon that will guide meand will not become distracted or dismayed. For I am wrapped in the loving arms of my Creator,in whom I have placed my trust.

    One can never totally escape,

    But can take a break-

    A mental and/or physical one.

    How one will re-enter

    No one knows,

    Because only time will tell.

Elizabeth, many of us need only a brief respite to be able to tolerate what we must. As you said, this respite helps, but usually, it is not supply a solution to what caused our duress. However, it may be enough for us to regroup to carry on. These days, we need all the help we can get!

So true, Michele, that usually it is helpful to tolerate what we must, but sometimes we return and it feels like we are back at square one.

    About an escape

    The world surrounds me
    in its web of doubt.
    What am I to do
when the walls seem to close in,
when everything is colored in shades of gray?

    When I was a child,
    life seemed so easy,
being led by the hand down life’s path.
    I was protected,
    I was watched over.

Now, there are mountains to climb
    and fears to be faced,
    and a world that seems
to have been turned upside down.

Sometimes the mind screams, “Find an escape!”
But what do I tell it…
I am not sure I have a ready answer.

And so, I listen to my heart
and it tells me I don’t need all
the puzzle pieces in front of me.
It will all come together in due time,
for I am still being watched over and protected.

Live in the moment, the shades of gray will lift
and the light will shine brightly again,
and the crooked path will be made straight.

I can stand tall, for I am strong in spirit
    and have hope.
I see the beacon that will guide me
and will not become distracted or dismayed.
For I am wrapped in the loving arms of my Creator,
in whom I have placed my trust.

Michele, how beautiful —nice to see you hopeful with the ending. We are so used to your positivity at your conclusions of pieces that when it doesn’t happen it surprises us. I am sending blessings for all of us to be strong in spirit!
