    What carries me?

    Rita Basuray

My friends. But I suppose at the end, I carry me, because I choose to surround myself with the friends who carry me when I need carrying and in turn, I carry them if needed. My husband turns out to be my best friend, who carries me through difficult and other times the most. Whether it is making me breakfast in the morning, or a sudden gift of chocolates, and so on. These small things lift me the most and that’s what I’m thankful for. Come to think of it, I’m also thankful for the opportunity to lift friends, when they need me. It is a privilege to be able to lift up someone, but it’s best when one is asked to help. And then –

  2. What carries you~~~

What motivates me … the expectation that each day will bring unique experiences into my life.
Each day is perceived to be a gift for which I am thankful.
Whether it be the smile and hug from my 5-year-old granddaughter or the green lush grass that lies before me
or the sweet aroma from the honeysuckle and purple lilac blooming around me
or the stranger who passes by and says hello.
These all carry and lift me up from one day to the next.
They are the inspiration to do a bit better each day.
