"Finale" by Pablo Neruda

Matilde, years or days
sleeping, feverish,
here or there,
gazing off,
twisting my spine,
bleeding true blood,
perhaps I awaken
or am lost, sleeping:
hospital beds, foreign windows,
white uniforms of the silent walkers,
the clumsiness of feet.

And then, these journeys
and my sea of renewal:
your head on the pillow,
your hands floating
in the light, in my light,
over my earth.
It was beautiful to live
when you lived!

The world is bluer and of the earth
at night, when I sleep
enormous, within your small hands.

    The sea of renewal
    Is not from
    The sea of tranquility,
    It is oceans away.

    Rebirth and resurrection
    Come out of the turbulence
    Of the crashing of waves.

    It is then
    That one can emege
    From the blessed water.

It is through facing life’s tribulations that we come to value the calm waters. To thrust your head above the crashing waves and see the light, you will secure hope and strength to finish the swim.

Write About a Sea of Renewal

Ebbs and Flows of the tide
    Sunrises followed by Sunsets
    Rainbows that appear after Rain
    Births and Deaths
Each day brings the opportunity for a new start

Each day is, indeed, a second chance for new beginnings…the sad fact is many of us don’t recognize and utilize that opportunity

    About a sea of renewal~~~

She meant the world to me: my Mom, my friend.
She suffered so much, especially during the ending weeks of her illness.
Death almost became a welcomed relief from the unending pain.

But with her passing, there was an immense void…
    both of mind and heart.
I wandered and wondered at the meaning of it all.
I came to realize the immensity of the courage and strength
    she showed throughout her life…
virtues that I would hope to obtain in my life and in interactions with others.

Her faith, her moral code, and her strength encouraged me then and still motivates me to move forward in this life.

Hopefully, we will meet again in the heavens.
