Live Virtual Group Session: 1PM EDT October 13th 2021

Thank you to everyone who joined for this session!

For this session we closely viewed photographs from the “Kitchen Table Series” by Carrie Mae Weems, posted below.

Our prompt for this session was: “What brings you to the table?”

More details on this session will be posted, so check back!

Participants are warmly encouraged to share what you wrote below (“Leave a Reply”), to keep the conversation going here, bearing in mind that the blog of course is a public space where confidentiality is not assured.

Also, we would love to learn more about your experience of these sessions, so if you’re able, please take the time to fill out a follow-up survey of one to two quick questions!

Please join us for our next session Saturday October 16th at 12pm EDT, with more times listed on our Live Virtual Group Sessions page.

  1. What brings me to the table~~~

    A table… a non-descript piece of wood.
Sturdy, everlasting, a sign of security.
    A meeting place of sorts,
to sort out disputes, to share secrets, to work out problems, to show love and family cohesiveness.

As I sit here at the table, I am part of this family unit.
    I belong.
I am bolstered by the strength it offers to me.

When I am absent from this space, I long to be united again,
for it brings a feeling of warmth and love to my heart.

An inanimate object that brings so much living.
