Our prompt for this session was a choice between: “Write about your relationship to the box” OR “Write about missing the memo.”

    Write about my relationship to the box~~~

    So what is this rule about coloring inside the lines or staying within the box when writing your “John Hancock” on the back of a check?
    I don’t see how this affects my daily comings or goings or how I select my menu for tonight’s supper.
    A box is a confinement, a boundary of limitations.
    I, on the other hand, just want to go off and explore, to push those boundaries to the side.

    To be free in thought and actions instead of predestined conclusions.
    Freedom, sweet freedom!
    Like a Roomba moving through my brain clearing it of all the clutter.
    Give me a box and I would probably kick it to the side.
    A good game of soccer might ensue.

    A box, is a box, is a box.
    What’s the big deal?
    Just ignore it, life will go on.

    I guess it’s time to get off my soapbox and toss it aside.
    All this talking about boxes has gotten me into a cleaning mode.
    Time to toss those empty boxes in the garage into the recycle bin.
    Maybe then they could end up being used for some positive purpose.

      Sounds like a yearning to go off the grid, which is a series of small boxes. Boxes are not something to collect – too limiting. The big deal for me is if I had a bid box I would expand what I condensed of my garage as we downsize. Life does go on!

    Sometimes with email,
    When there is no punctuation,
    When there is no inflection,
    When there is no capitalization,
    When there are lots of abbreviations…

    I miss the memo.

    Well, I missed the memo about saying something about my relationship with the box
    and now that I’ve had a stunning lesson about boxes, prepositions, and
    relationships with boxes and prepositions
    I remain quite confused.

    And I just learned lessons from a student
    who is smarter than the teacher,
    at least smarter than this teacher,
    and I found myself boxed in
    which would make you think I am inside the box
    or maybe I’m under it and not inside it at all
    and what’s the preposition here.
    I don’t know.
